PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT DALAM PENGENALAN PEMBUATAN KOMPOS

Sibalanga Village, Kec. Adiankoting, Kab. North Tapanuli majority of the population is farming. The conditions of the agricultural land vary, some are flat, undulating, hilly so that the soil fertility is low, accompanied by an agricultural pattern that is still based on inorganic fertilizers. Available natural resources such as crop residues, straw and straw have not been used as organic fertilizer sources. Identification and problems of farmers not knowing how to preserve the fertility and health of their agricultural land, so that cultivated agricultural products can be maximized. Under these conditions the community service team and farmer groups agreed on how to make compost as organic fertilizer using simple, fast, inexpensive and easy-to-do technology.The presence of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sisingamangaraja XII Tapanuli University held outreach, lectures, simulations, and demonstration plots for making compost. The results of the meeting between the community service team and the farmer group were very enthusiastic and seriously listened to the presentation of the material accompanied by questions and answers during the implementation of the demo plot for composting and the farmer group hoped that it would become a fostered village by sending students for Field Work Practices (PKL) and Final Projects.
